For example, a typical sodium street light has a life expectancy of 16,000 hours. The LED replacement has a life expectancy of 50,000 hours and will consume 60% less power. Bright Power has a unique and patented solution, which extends the life expectancy to 180,000 hours and consumes up to 80% less power than traditional lighting. The global street lighting market is worth $180 billion USD.
The technology is constituted by three main components covered by the patent: Street Light LED (Delight60), the ALM (Adaptive Logic Module Controller), and the power supply. The business has secured expressions of interest for the supply of its street light unit into the Italian marketplace and is in negotiations with other geographical areas and exploring opportunities with a number of global routes to market partners.
The Bright Power ALM, used within the street light, has many further applications such as LED TV’s. The LED TV market has exploded in recent years, with LED becoming the dominant TV display technology, it is clear to see the potential market value. The key NLL enabling technology is an electronic power supply controller, developed for LED matrix based lighting systems to address the operational problems that these systems have traditionally experienced. The Delight60 luminaire and all NLL products are based on this core technology and it has direct application in all LED lighting products. Its key features include:
